3 Boston Bruins Who Won't Be Back Next Season: Post Trade Deadline Fallout

Compared to many of the other teams, the Boston Bruins players who are still on the team but won't be back next season aren't as exciting. Most of the interesting pieces that were going to be moved were. That leaves the Bruins with some depth pieces to swap out and upgrade.

Parker Wotherspoon

Parker Wotherspoon has done well enough in the role he has been tasked to play this season, but even on a worn down and depleted defense of the Bruins, he is still a third pairing player who serves on the second penalty killing unit. He has gotten into 38 games this season due to injuries and has logged less than 18 minutes per game. With Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm back to start next season and money to spend, Wotherspoon isn't making the roster. He is a UFA after the season, so it's likely he finds an opportunity elsewhere.

Cole Koepke

Cole Koepke is another pending UFA after the season. Just like with Wotherspoon, there are going to be upgrades in the summer for the Bruins. This means the fourth line winger might be pushed out and sign elsewhere. He has proven that he can contribute with nine goals and 131 hits, but he is a less versatile and worse version of Mark Kastelic, who is also in the team's bottom-6. If there was one player from this trio that the Bruins would bring back, it is Koepke, but we'll see how the big summer ahead plays out.

Patrick Brown

Patrick Brown has only played four games for the Bruins this season and 11 last season after being acquired. This was just another body and that is the only thing he's provided to Boston. As a 32 year old, the Bruins are most definitely just going to look younger and move on from Brown. Many other players can provide more than he has.
