3 Calgary Flames Contract Extension Candidates

The 2025 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now. Yet, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest edition of the series, let's take a look at the Calgary Flames.

Kevin Bahl

Bahl is a pending restricted free agent that the Flames could very well look to extend in the near future. The 24-year-old defenseman has become a key part of the Flames' blueline this season, as he has played on their second pairing and gets penalty-kill time. He has also scored two goals and has set new career highs with 14 assists and 16 points.

Connor Zary

Zary is a player who the Flames will surely look to sign to a contract extension. The 23-year-old forward is a key part of Calgary's future and has plenty of upside. In 49 games this season, the 2020 first-round pick has 12 goals and 24 points.

Matt Coronato

Coronato is another young Flames forward who is due for his next contract. The 22-year-old forward is in the middle of a breakout year, setting new career highs with 16 goals, 16 assists, and 32 points in 59 games. With this, he is due for a nice raise.
