3 New York Rangers Contract Extension Candidates

The 2025 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now. Yet, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be taking a look at the New York Rangers.

K'Andre Miller

Miller is a notable restricted free agent who the Rangers could look to sign to a contract extension. While the 25-year-old defenseman was the subject of trade rumors leading up to the deadline, he stayed put. With the 2018 first-round pick being a key part of the Rangers' blueline and starting to heat back up, it would be understandable if they inked him to an extension.

Will Cuylle

Cuylle has broken out in a big way for the Rangers this season. In 64 games, he has set new career highs with 17 goals, 17 assists, and a plus-8 rating. He has also once again made a major impact with his physicality, as his 232 hits effectively show. With this, there is no question that the Rangers will be looking to extend the pending restricted free agent.

Matt Rempe

Matt Rempe is in the final season of his entry-level contract and will be a restricted free agent this offseason. Given how much physicality and toughness he brings to the Rangers' lineup when used, it would be shocking if the Rangers don't keep the 22-year-old forward around.
