3 Potential Landing Spots for Blues' Jordan Kyrou

St. Louis Blues general manager Doug Armstrong is listening to trade offers on just about everyone on his roster in hopes of revamping the team, including players who were thought to be long-term cornerstones of the team.

Perhaps the most surprising move would be if they decide to ship out 26-year-old Jordan Kyrou. He's in the middle of his 4th straight 20+ goal season, and quite likely his third straight 30-goal year. He's only in the second season of an eight-year deal with an $8.125 million AAV.  But most notably, his no-trade clause kicks in on July 1. If they're planning to move him, they must decide quickly.

There are obviously plenty of teams interested in the smooth-skating forward who's right in the prime of his career. It'll likely take a first-round pick and a top young prospect. Let's have a look at three potential landing spots:

Carolina Hurricanes

If the Canes ultimately decide to flip Mikko Rantanen before the trade deadline (and the ball is now in their court on that front), perhaps they could do so with the intention of using assets they get in return, most likely from a contender, to use in a trade to land Kyrou. He's not quite at Rantanen's level just yet, but he's on a trajectory to potentially get there, and he would replace a lot of the scoring the Canes have lost since dealing Martin Necas (and now, possibly, Rantanen). This would likely take a three-team deal to make the cap money and trade returns work.

Chicago Blackhawks

The rebuild in the Windy City isn't going so well, in case you haven't heard. The Blackhawks have the second-worst record in the NHL for the second consecutive year in the Connor Bedard Era. The former No. 1 overall pick is having a tough sophomore season, and the Hawks have been desperate for an elite talent to put alongside him. With plenty of cap space, they'd have no troubles taking on Kyrou's $8.125M cap hit.

Anaheim Ducks

Similar to the Blackhawks, the Ducks are looking to expedite their rebuild, and adding an exciting young player like Kyrou would be the ticket. They also have plenty of cap space ahead of the deadline to take on the Blues' forward's salary. With Trevor Zegras continuing to flounder in Anaheim, would Doug Armstrong have any belief that he could rejuvenate the skilled 23-year-old's career in St. Louis? It would obviously take more than just Zegras to get a deal like this done, perhaps with a top prospect and/or draft pick(s).
