3 Vegas Golden Knights Contract Extension Candidates

The 2025 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now. Yet, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing on the Vegas Golden Knights.

Brandon Saad

After Saad's contract with the Blues was mutually terminated in January, the Golden Knights quickly signed the veteran forward for the rest of the season. Since coming to Vegas, the 32-year-old forward has been a great fit, as he has five goals, 10 points, and a plus-5 rating in 16 games. With numbers like these, it would not be surprising if the Golden Knights looked to keep him around beyond this season.

Tanner Pearson

The Golden Knights quietly signed Pearson to a one-year, $775,000 contract in October after he impressed in the preseason on a PTO. Since then, the veteran forward has been quite solid for Vegas, posting 11 goals and 24 points in 65 games. Overall, he has given Vegas some solid depth offensive production, so it would be understandable if they tried to extend him on another cheap deal.

Nicolas Hague

Hague has been a key part of the Golden Knights' blueline over the last few seasons, so they could look to extend the pending restricted free agent before the season is over. The 6-foot-6 blueliner is having another solid season with Vegas, as he has four goals, 10 points, 63 blocks, and 64 hits in 57 games.
