Avalanche Rumors: J.T Miller Rejected Trade to Colorado
The Vancouver Canucks dealt with some serious drama this season between Elias Pettersson and J.T Miller, which resulted in Miller being asked to waive his no-movement clause and eventually, after a long drawn-out process, traded to the New York Rangers.
Turns out that wasn't the first deal that Canucks' GM Patrik Allvin had on the table for Miller and approached the versatile forward with. According to Renaud Lavoie, Vancouver had a deal in place with Colorado, however Miller decided to reject a trade to the Avalanche.
Nothing confirmed as far as reasoning goes, but it's certainly interesting to know Miller could be on the Avs, and what that could have meant for Mikko Rantanen's future. He's currently in Carolina and unsure about signing a contract extension, meanwhile Miller is loving life on Broadway, playing alongside his childhood best friend Vincent Trocheck, on the team he never wanted to leave in the first place.
Miller has recorded five goals and five assists, for 10 points in nine games so far with the Rangers, averaging 17:49 of ice-time per game. The Canucks are still dealing with Pettersson issues, as he's come out and admitted the media coverage in Vancouver is annoying and there could be a deal done before Friday.
Meanwhile the Avalanche landed Martin Necas and Jack Drury for Rantanen, and Necas has been working out in a major way, bringing another aspect of elite speed to the top of the Avs lineup. Necas has recorded 13 points in 12 games so far with Colorado.
