Capitals' Jakub Vrana & 3 Other Players Placed On Waivers

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Jesse Puljujarvi (Florida Panthers), Christian Fischier (Detroit Red Wings), Jordan Oesterle (Boston Bruins), and Jakub Vrana (Washington Capitals) have all been placed on waivers.

Puljujarvi's waiver placement comes with good news. The 2016 first-round pick has signed a two-way NHL contract with the Panthers for the remainder of the season. He joined the Panthers' AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, on an AHL deal last month after mutually terminating his contract the Pittsburgh Penguins. Now, he has impressed enough to get an NHL deal.

Fischer, 27, has appeared in 45 games this season with the Red Wings, where he has one goal, six assists, and a minus-5 rating. It has been a tough year for the Chicago, Illinois native, and he is now on the waiver wire because of it. Teams looking for help in their bottom six could consider taking a chance on the 2015 second-round pick.

Oesterle, 32, has one goal, six points, and a plus-3 rating in 22 games with the Bruins this season. He started the season in the AHL with the Providence Bruins but first got called up back in November due to Boston's injury trouble. Now, he is available for the taking.

Vrana, 29, has played in 26 games this season with the Capitals, where he has seven goals, 11 points, and a plus-6 rating. Overall, he has been serviceable for the Caps, but he has not been used often. He played in just two games during January, one game in February, and has yet to play in March.
