Ristolainen, 30, last played on March 11 against the Ottawa Senators and has missed each of the Flyers' last three games due to his injury. However, with this update from the Flyers, we now know that Ristolainen is set to miss a decent amount of more time from here.
This is certainly tough news for Ristolainen, as he has been hit by the injury bug often over the last handful of seasons. During this past season, for example, the right-shot blueliner was limited to just 31 games, where he had one goal, four points, and a minus-6 rating.
Ristolainen has had a solid season for the Flyers this campaign, too, as he has four goals, 19 points, 94 blocks, 97 hits, and a plus-3 rating. However, it will now need to be put on pause for longer after this latest announcement from the Flyers.
Ristolainen has appeared in 776 career NHL games split between the Buffalo Sabres and Flyers, where he has 56 goals, 248 assists, 304 points, 1,254 blocks, and 1,9000 hits. Here's to hoping that the 6-foot-4 defenseman has a speedy recovery from here.
