Islanders Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Destinations Jean-Gabriel Pageau
New York Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau created chatter in the rumor mill leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline. However, the Islanders ended up holding onto the 32-year-old forward for the remainder of the season.
Yet, when noting that Pageau has come up in the rumor mill for quite some time, it would not be surprising in the slightest if this carries over to the summer. If the Islanders make him available, these three clubs could be in the mix.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets have been connected to Pageau in the past, and they could look to add him this offseason. When looking at their roster, they could still use some help down the middle, and acquiring Pageau would give them just that. He could be a nice fit in their middle six and would also give them another solid option for their penalty kill.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators could be a team to watch when it comes to Pageau this summer. He had a strong tenure with them during the beginning portion of his career, and he could give their top nine a boost next season if acquired. In addition, he would give them another experience leader in their room as they look to take that next step into contender status.
Detroit Red Wings
Improving down the middle should be a priority for the Red Wings this offseason, as they undoubtedly need more depth. If they acquired Pageau, he could work nicely in their middle six, as he provides offense and is solid defensively. In addition, his two-way play would make him an option for both their power play and penalty kill if acquired.
