Kraken Rumors: 3 Teams Linked To Jared McCann

The Seattle Kraken are expected to be sellers at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. It is understandable, as they do not hold a playoff spot and are due for some roster changes. Jared McCann is one notable Kraken player who has been the subject of trade rumors that fans should keep an eye on this week.

According to The Fourth Period, the Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators, and New York Rangers are all linked to McCann.

The Canucks having McCann on their radar is understandable. After trading J.T. Miller earlier this season, there is no question that they could use another top-six forward as they look to earn a playoff spot. McCann would give them just that if they acquire him, and he could slot very nicely on their first line with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.

The Senators being interested in McCann also makes sense. The Sens are currently fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and acquiring McCann could help their chances of breaking their ongoing drought. McCann could be a good fit on the Senators' second line with Josh Norris and Drake Batherson. In addition, he would be a clear choice for their power play.

While the Rangers do not hold a playoff spot and have started selling, it also makes sense that they are interested in McCann. He notably would be more than a rental for the Blueshirts, as he carries a $5 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season. Thus, he could be a great pickup for a Rangers team that needs help on offense.
