LA Kings & Seattle Kraken Emerging As Potential Trade Partners

The Los Angeles Kings are ready to add to their roster with the 2025 NHL trade deadline just about here. At this point of the season, they comfortably sit at third in the Pacific Division standings, so they will be looking to improve their group. One of their top objectives is to add an impactful right winger by the March 7 deadline.

The Seattle Kraken, on the other hand, are the fourth-worst team in the Western Conference standings and will be sellers at the deadline. One of their top trade candidates is forward Oliver Bjorkstrand, and he is a player who could grab the Kings' attention.

Bjorkstrand, 29, would give the Kings' depth at right wing a serious jolt. The 2013 third-round pick is having another solid season with the Kraken, posting 16 goals and 36 points in 60 games. With this, he is on pace to score 20 goals for the sixth time in his last seven seasons.

If the Kings acquired Bjorkstrand, he would be an obvious choice for their second line with Quinton Byfield and Kevin Fiala. However, he also could provide solid secondary offensive production in a third-line role for the Kings, too. In either scenario, the Kings' offense would benefit greatly by a Bjorkstrand addition. Furhtermore, due to his offensive skill, he would give them another valuable weapon for their power play.

Another appealing fact about Bjorkstrand is that he is signed until the end of next season, where he has a $5.4 million cap hit. Due to this, he would benefit the Kings beyond this season.

We will now need to wait and see if the Kraken and Kings end up striking a deal centering around Bjorkstrand from here.
