NHL Injury Updates: Avalanche's Josh Manson Considered Week-To-Week

Josh Manson has already missed 20 games for the Colorado Avalanche this season and after getting injured and missing the team's last game with an upper-body injury, will miss a couple more weeks at the least according to head coach Jared Bednar when speaking to reporters following the team's win over the Dallas Stars. He is considered week-to-week at this time.

Manson is a key piece that the team misses when he isn't in the lineup, but health is always a concern for him at this stage in his career and after being in and out of the lineup for the past six seasons (3.5 with the Avalanche).

The 33-year-old has played in 48 games this season and has one goal and 15 points. He has been more disciplined this season and is one of the team's penalty killers. The big defender has 59 blocked shots and 105 hits this season and is averaging a pinch over 18 minutes of ice time per game.

With the addition of Ryan Lindgren ahead of the trade deadline and both Sam Malinski and Erik Johnson stepping up, the Avalanche should be fine to continue rolling. The hope for the team is that Manson's injury is not too serious and he can rest up to be good to go for playoffs as the Avalanche have a tough first round matchup if they end up finishing second or third in their division. It will be a heavy series that Manson will impact if he's involved.
