NHL Injury Updates: New York Rangers' Matt Rempe To Miss Time

According to the New York Post's Larry Brooks, New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe has suffered an upper-body injury and is considered week-to-week.
Rempe, 22, last played during the Rangers' March 25 contest against the Los Angeles Kings. During this matchup, the 6-foot-9 forward had 5:40 of ice time and nine shifts total. In addition, he dropped the gloves with Kings forward Tanner Jeannot in the contest.

With Rempe now sidelined week-to-week, the Rangers are losing plenty of size and toughness in their bottom six. This injury has also come at a tough time for the Rangers, as they are currently fighting for a playoff spot in the tight Eastern Conference wild card race. Thus, it is less than ideal that the Rangers are losing one of their depth forwards at this juncture of the campaign.

Rempe, 22, has appeared in 36 games this season with the Rangers, where he has two goals, five points, 63 penalty minutes, and 103 hits. He has also played in 18 games with the Rangers' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, posting three goals, five points, and 22 penalty minutes.

It will now be interesting to see how the Rangers adjust without having Rempe as an option down the stretch from here.
