NHL Rumors: 3 Blackhawks Who Could Be Traded Next

The Chicago Blackhawks made a massive move on March 1, trading star defenseman Seth Jones to the Florida Panthers. Jones had been wanting the opportunity to play for a contender, and the rebuilding Blackhawks have now given him that opportunity.

However, it would be surprising if the Blackhawks are done making moves between now and the March 7 trade deadline. Due to this, let's go over three more Blackhawks who have the chance to be traded.

Ryan Donato

Donato is now the Blackhawks' top trade candidate with Jones off the board. The 28-year-old forward should generate a ton of interest, as he has an affordable $2 million and is in the middle of a fantastic season. In 58 games, the pending unrestricted free agent has set new career highs with 21 goals, 22 assists, and 43 points. Expect several teams to be in the mix for him because of it.

Pat Maroon

Contenders love gritty forwards for the playoffs, so a pending UFA like Maroon should also be watched. The 36-year-old winger is still effective in a fourth-line role because of his hard-nosed style of play. In addition, he has won three Stanley Cups and is known for his leadership qualities, so he could be a good pickup for a contender looking for more depth and experience.

Alec Martinez

Martinez is another Blackhawk who has the potential to be moved over the next few days. Like Maroon, Martinez is a pending UFA who has won the Stanley Cup three times, so he could generate some interest. In 33 games this season, the 37-year-old blueliner has four goals, 11 points, and 73 blocks.
