Oilers News: Corey Perry Is P----d Off" About Stuart Skinner Injury & Aftermath

The Edmonton Oilers goaltending situation has been tenuous at best this season. Now, after starter Stuart Skinner went down to injury Wednesday night after getting a high-speed knee to the head, feisty forward Corey Perry was none too happy about the situation:

"I didn't see it until afterwards and I'm pretty pissed at myself that I didn't see it... I should never have let that happen."

Skinner was clipped on a fly-by knee to the head by the Dallas Stars' Mikko Rantanen, but whether it was intentional or not is in question. There was no retribution of any kind from the Oilers.

Skinner left the game and did not travel with the team to Seattle for their game tonight against the Kraken.

Calvin Pickard will start for Edmonton, and the good news is that he’s got a .952 save percentage in his last four games. The team also made an emergency recall of goalie Olivier Rodrigue from Bakersfield in the AHL. He has an .899 save percentage this season.

The Oilers refused to make a move at the trade deadline to bring in some added depth in the crease, and they can only hope that they won't be paying the price with any kind of lengthy absence of Skinner.
