Pittsburgh Penguins Trade Luke Schenn To Winnipeg Jets
The Pittsburgh Penguins have quickly flipped Luke Schenn, trading the veteran defenseman to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Pittsburgh had just acquired Schenn from the Nashville Predators earlier in the week as part of a deal that sent Michael Bunting to Nashville.
Now, the Penguins turn a short-term depth move into valuable future assets.

D Luke Schenn
To #LetsGoPens:
2026 2nd Round Pick
2027 4th Round Pick
Schenn, 35, is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and brings experience to a Jets team that currently sits atop the NHL standings.
The 6-foot-2, right-shot defenseman has one goal and five points in 61 games this season while averaging 15:35 of ice time.
He is in the second season of a three-year, $8.25 million contract and will remain under team control through 2025-26.
With Winnipeg making a serious push for a deep playoff run, Schenn’s physical presence and playoff pedigree could be key down the stretch.
