Report: 3 Islanders On Trade Block Today, Palmieri Considering Extension Offer
Plenty of action on Long Island on this trade deadline today. Reports from insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period indicate that three players in particular are in play, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Anders Lee and Kyle Palmieri.
But in the case of the latter, the only pending UFA of that trio, Palmieri is considering a two-year extension offer before GM Lou Lamoriello commits to looking at trade offers.
As I reported Thurs, the #Isles have offered a 2-year extension to keep Kyle Palmieri. The two sides are speaking later this morning, upon which a decision will be made (sign him or move him). There's been trade interest in Palmieri, as well as J-G Pageau & even Anders Lee.

Pagnotta reports that Palmieri and Lamoriello are continuing talks this morning, but if no agreement is struck, they will have to make a final decision on whether to trade him.
Other sources are confirming the Palmieri extension talks as well.
As @AGrossNewsday mentioned, #Isles are still active in trying to re-sign F Kyle Palmieri.

Sounds like NYI is looking for a shorter-term deal (2-3 years).
A good comparable would be former NYI F Jordan Eberle, who got 2 x $4.75 M extension with #SeaKraken last March.
Stefen Rosner suggests an AAV of just under $5M is a number to watch, if it gets done.
Lee and Pageau are two other older players, but both with one more year on their contracts, Lee at $7M, Pageau at $5M.
The 33-year-old Palmieri, whose $5M cap hit expires this season, just cracked the 20-goal mark for the 7th time in his 15-year career, and has been on Long Island for 4+ seasons. He's coming off an excellent 30-goal season last year.
The Islanders finally surrendered and traded Brock Nelson last night, to the Colorado Rockies, but Palmieri is still up in the air.
The team remains just four points out of a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, but with four other teams to leapfrog first.
