Report: Blues Open For Business On Every Player Except One

The St. Louis Blues are open for business ahead of the NHL trade deadline, with Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reporting that general manager Doug Armstrong is listening to offers on nearly everyone—except Robert Thomas.

The 25-year-old center has been the team’s most consistent player, leading the Blues with 48 points in 48 games.

He extended his point streak to seven games with a goal and an assist in the Blues’ 7-2 win over the Seattle Kraken, and has been on an absolute tear over his last eight games (4 goals & 8 assists), further solidifying his status as the franchise’s centerpiece.

Despite recent wins over the Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche, the Blues remain outside the playoff picture, pushing Armstrong to explore changes.

Friedman noted that the team has received interest in Jordan Kyrou, Pavel Buchnevich, and Colton Parayko, but their contracts could make trades difficult.

“The only guy they’re not trading is Robert Thomas,” Friedman said on 32 Thoughts. “They’re willing to listen on just about everyone else.” With captain Brayden Schenn also in trade discussions and veteran defensemen like Justin Faulk and Nick Leddy potentially available, St. Louis could be headed for a major shake-up.

While some veterans have played key roles, the Blues appear committed to building around Thomas, Dylan Holloway, and Philip Broberg.

Over his seven seasons in the NHL, Thomas has recorded 102 goals and 261 assists for 363 total points across 444 games played.
