Report: Flyers' Scott Laughton's Trade Market Heating Up
Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton is one of the NHL's top trade candidates as we head into the 2025 NHL trade deadline. With the deadline now being just two days away, all eyes will be on the Flyers alternate captain.
Interest in Laughton’s services is undoubtedly increasing with the deadline just about here. According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, up to eight teams are calling the Flyers about the gritty forward.
"As many as 8 teams swirling around the Flyers with calls on Scott Laughton," Dreger reported on X. "The center market is shrinking so Briere is in no rush. 1st round picks are in play, but there could be room for improvement as the week unfolds."

Hearing that interest in Laughton is only increasing is not surprising. Contenders are always on the hunt for centers who play a heavy game for the playoffs, so it makes sense that Laughton is a hot commodity right now. This is especially so when noting that he is also a solid two-way forward who chips in offensively and kills penalties. In 59 games this season, he has 11 goals, 27 points, and 121 hits.
It will be fascinating to see what happens with Laughton at the deadline. Given that he has another year left on his contract after this one, the Flyers do not necessarily need to force a move. However, if they get a big enough offer, don’t be surprised if we see the veteran dealt.
