Report: Rangers Would ‘Push to the Front of the Line’ For Brady Tkachuk

The New York Rangers have made several key changes this season as they revamp their team trying to get back to Stanley Cup contender status. Some big names going out, and a big name in JT Miller coming in.

But the offseason will undoubtedly bring another swell of major activity, with names like Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad and even Artemi Panarin perhaps the next ones headed out of town. The former has a modified no-trade clause, while the other two have a full no-move.

And according to Arthur Staple in The Athletic, if—IF—Brady Tkachuk would express a desire to leave the Ottawa Senators (as was speculated at times this season), the Rangers would be all over that.

There’s Brady Tkachuk, but let’s not get anyone in trouble talking too much about him. If he ever expressed a desire to leave the Ottawa Senators, though, the Rangers would be pushing to get to the front of the line, no question.

Yes, that's the same Brady Tkachuk who scored the overtime winner over the Rangers this past weekend.

The Blueshirts got a closeup look at what Tkachuk can do.

He has three years remaining on his 7-year, $8.2 million AAV contract with the Sens, but rumors ran high, especially around the time of the 4 Nations event, when the Tkachuk brothers became Mr. America x2, that Brady would eventually follow in his brother Matthew's footsteps (and his father Keith's, by the way) to get himself out of Canada and down below the 49th parallel to an American club.

Brady expressed plenty of sadness over the weekend when the Senators traded one of his bff's on the team, Josh Norris, in a deadline day deal for Dylan Cozens.

Tkachuk has 26 goals and 49 points in 60 games this season, and is on pace for his fourth straight 30+ goal year.

He brings the feistiness and heart that, combined with Miller, would take the team's compete level to new heights.
