Report: Vegas Golden Knights Linked To 4 Big-Name Forwards
The Vegas Golden Knights are at the top of the Pacific Division standings and are set to be buyers at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. The Golden Knights are never afraid to make a splash at the trade deadline, and they have some notable targets on their radar because of it.
According to The Fourth Period, the Golden Knights have been connected to Brock Boeser, Brock Nelson, Rickard Rakell, and Brayden Schenn.
The Golden Knights having an interest in Boeser is understandable. They could use another top-six winger, and acquiring Boeser would give them just that. In 54 games this season with the Vancouver Canucks, the pending unrestricted free agent has 18 goals and 37 points.
Nelson is the top center on the trade market right now and would be a solid fit on the Golden Knights' roster if acquired. The New York Islanders have been trying to sign him to an extension, but if that does not come to fruition, he certainly could get dealt. In 61 games this season, he has 20 goals and 43 points.
Rakell would be more than a rental for the Golden Knights if acquired. This is because he is signed until the end of the 2027-28 season, carrying a $5 million cap hit. He is in the middle of a fantastic season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, posting 29 goals and 53 points in 63 games thus far.
As for Schenn, he would give the Golden Knights an impactful veteran center who is known for his strong two-way play and grit. He could slot as their 3C and would be an obvious choice for their penalty kill. In 63 games this season, he has 12 goals, 38 points, and 158 hits.
