Greenway is wrapping up a three-year deal with a $3 million cap hit this season, so the extension offers him a nice raise.
Greenway recently professed his love for Buffalo and the Sabres organization, and his desire to stick around.
“My experience here has been unreal,” Greenway said. “I love this group. I love the direction that Kevyn, Lindy (Ruff), the direction they’re trying to go. I’m all in."
The 6'6", 230-lb winger was rock solid last season with the Sabres, collecting 10 goals and 28 points in 67 games while dishing out 141 hits with a plus/minus rating of +11. This year, due to an injury that kept him out for two months, he's only played in 26 games, but has already recorded 80 hits.
Both Gudas and Johnston try to take out Greenway. Both fail miserably
