San Jose Sharks Place Forward On Waivers

The San Jose Sharks have made a roster move, as they have placed forward Walker Duehr on waivers.

The Sharks claimed Duehr off waivers from the Calgary Flames back on Jan. 22. Now, a little over a month later, Duehr finds himself right back on the wire.

Duehr has played in eight games with the Sharks since being claimed by the Pacific Division club, where he has two goals, 21 hits, and a minus-5 rating. This was after he recorded one assist, 28 hits, and a minus-1 rating in 16 games with the Flames earlier this campaign.

Teams looking for more forward depth could consider taking a flier on Duehr. This is especially so if they are looking for more bite in their bottom six, which is something that the 6-foot-2 certainly provides when in the lineup.

If the Flames were to claim Duehr on waivers and no other team puts in an attempted claim, they would be able to send him down to the AHL without being required to put him back on the waiver wire.

Duehr has appeared in 92 career NHL games split between the Flames and the Sharks, where he has 11 goals, 10 assists, 21 points, and 171 hits. It will be intriguing to see what happens with the Sioux Falls, South Dakota native from here.
