Scott Laughton Held Off The Ice At Flyers Practice on Friday
In what seems like a big development, the Philadelphia Flyers have held prime trade candidate Scott Laughton off the ice for practice on Friday. The veteran third-line center has become a very hot commodity with other centers having come off the board over the last day or two.
John Tortorella said they’ve kept Scott Laughton off the ice for practice today because it’s going to be a quick skate. Said they just want to keep his head clear because of how present his name has been in trade rumors. #LetsGoFlyers

While Flyers coach John Tortorella tried to calm the hysteria by saying they kept him off the ice only because "it's going to be a quick skate", he leaves no doubt how he feels about Laughton, trade or not:
Torts on Laughton: He's a very good friend of mine. We talked quite a bit this morning. His name's (out) there.

Told him this morning: no matter what happens here today, if he's still w/us or not, our relationship is always going to be our relationship. That will never go away."
He’s a very good friend of mine. We’ve talked quite a bit this morning…it’s worn on him a little bit, but like I told him, no matter happens…that’s a guy that I truly respect and love that’s always gonna be part of me.
The price tag is high on Laughton for any interested teams (ahem, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets...), with a first-rounder + being the ask.
