3 Offseason Targets For Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins finally fell after many expected it to happen for each of the past two seasons. That doesn't mean they're done though. Injuries didn't help their cause this season, but with a healthy group to begin next season, the defense and goaltending likely won't be touched. That leaves major upgrades needed on offense.

Sam Bennett

The Florida Panthers may not be able to keep Sam Bennett with what he's done to earn on his next deal, plus Anton Lundell is going to step into a top-6 role. The Bruins might have lost one in-your face gritty player in Brad Marchand, but have a chance to get another one in Bennett this offseason. He would be really useful as a No. 2 center and the Bruins really need centermen now. Bennet is in his prime, and if the Bruins want to rebound, they need to bolster the middle of the ice.

Ryan Donato

The Bruins will reportedly target Ryan Donato if he reaches free agency this offseason. He is definitely a player that the team needs. He isn't as established as some of the other top scorers in free agency and is second in goals among expected UFAs this offseason. Donato started his career in Boston and could get just as good of an opportunity on the team if he gets to free agency and the Bruins grab him.

Mikael Granlund

Mikael Granlund continues to be very underrated and impressed the last two seasons with the San Jose Sharks and has done a great job fitting in with the Dallas Stars. The team likely won't be able to keep him after the season, and with 66 points, he could get a nice 4-5 year deal. Granlund has done best with a bigger role where he's relied on, but after joining the Stars, has proved he can also produce in a different role. The Bruins have the need up front and if Elias Lindholm continues to not play like a top line center, Granlund has proven he is more than capable of that role on the Sharks.
