3 Offseason Targets For Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators had a horrible season and it wasn't good at any point. After a lot of big adds in the offseason and then many moves throughout the season, more has to be done. I don't think the team is going to try to take a step back, but rather try to rebound with many of their core still trying to win. There are two solid goalies in net and a slew of defensemen that, when healthy, make a strong unit, so adding at forward should be the main goal.

Brock Nelson

The Predators need forwards, particularly centers. Brock Nelson is going to be one of the main targets for teams like this and even though he doesn't help Nashville get any younger, that shouldn't be the goal right now. If they are trying to win, they need to take what they can get. Nelson has been consistently successful offensively in both scoring goals and producing points, even on a poor offensive team in the New York Islanders for his entire career until lately. It remains to be seen whether the Colorado Avalanche will re-sign Nelson, but if they don't, Nashville will have to throw a few years and some money at him.

Sam Bennett

Sam Bennett looks like he will be headed to free agency with the players already signed in Florida and Anton Lundell ready to take a bigger role. Bennett will be a hot commodity and the Predators could very much use him. He has some offensive ability and plays a hard game, something this team needs to get players dragged into the fight on a nightly basis. With Steven Stamkos better on the wing in his later years, Bennett would be a great pickup at center to player behind or above Ryan O'Reilly in the top-6.

Andrei Kuzmenko

The Predators might not get the centers they hope for, but definitely still need offense. This is what Andrei Kuzmenko has proven he can provide since coming over to North America. Though his last two seasons haven't been great in the goal scoring department, he scored 39 goals in his rookie season and can still produce points. He is also under 30 and would help the team by not bringing in more players in their early to mid 30s.
