Blackhawks Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Ryan Donato

Ryan Donato had a fantastic season for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2024-25. In 80 games, the Massachusetts native set new career highs with 31 goals, 31 assists, and 62 points. It was a big year for the eight-year veteran and it came at a great time, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent.

If the Blackhawks are unable to get Donato signed to a new deal and he hits the free-agent market this summer, look for these three teams to target him.

New York Rangers

The Rangers will likely look to add to their forward group this offseason after a tough 2024-25 season. When looking at their roster, they could use a boost in their middle six, and bringing in a skilled player like Donato would give them just that. This is especially so when noting that he can play both down the middle and on the wing.

Nashville Predators

It was an ugly year for the Predators, and the expectation is that they are going to try to add to their roster this summer because of it. A player like Donato could interest them, especially after the season he just had. They need centers big time, and Donato is one of the top ones who can hit the market this summer.

Boston Bruins

Donato started his career with the Bruins, and it would be understandable if the Original Six club tried to bring him back. The Bruins need serious help down the middle, and Donato would give them more offensive production. Thus, they could be a team to keep an eye on if Donato reaches free agency.
