NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Pittsburgh Penguins Offseason Trade Candidates
The Pittsburgh Penguins have had another disappointing season in 2024-25. At the time of this writing, they sport a 30-34-12 record and are seventh in the Metropolitan Division standings.
Given how this season has gone for the Penguins, the expectation is that they will end up making changes to their roster this summer. Because of this, let's take a look at three Penguins players who could be traded this offseason now.
Rickard Rakell
Rakell was the subject of trade rumors leading up to the deadline, and the Penguins listened to offers for him. While he ended up staying put, the expectation is that he will generate interest again this summer. Teams looking for top-six help should be in the mix for him, as he is enjoying a strong season. In 75 games, he has 33 goals and 66 points.
Bryan Rust
Rust is another Penguins forward to keep an eye on in the rumor mill this offseason. He no longer has a no-movement clause after this season, so teams will surely be inquiring about the 32-year-old winger's availability. In 65 games this season, he has 27 goals and 57 points. With numbers like these, he would be a good addition for a team looking for another scorer.
Noel Acciari
Acciari is another Penguin who come up in the rumor mill for Pittsburgh in the past, so it would not be too surprising if he was moved this offseason. While he is not as flashy as Rakell or Rust, he is a hard-nosed bottom-six forward who kills penalties. Playoff teams love players like him, so he could be someone on the move.
