NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Kraken's Jared McCann

Leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline, Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann was the subject of trade rumors. However, in the end, the Kraken elected not to move him.

Yet, interest in McCann's services is expected to ramp up once the offseason is here. Because of this, let's discuss three teams who could look to acquire the 28-year-old forward this summer now.

New York Islanders

The Islanders will surely look to add another top-six forward to their roster this offseason, so a player like McCann could grab their attention. He would undoubtedly help improve their struggling offense, as he has 55 points in 76 games this campaign. In addition, since he can play both on the wing and down the middle, he could anywhere in their top six.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins traded several former key players at the deadline, but management has specified that they are retooling rather than rebuilding. Their goal is to be competitive again as soon as possible, so they could be a team to watch when it comes to McCann. He would give their top six a much-needed boost if acquired and is also under contract until the end of the 2026-27 campaign. This could make him appealing to Boston.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks need to get Connor Bedard more talent around him, so they could be a sneaky team to watch when it comes to McCann. He could slot nicely on a line with Bedard if acquired and also would be a clear fit on their power play. In addition, with McCann being signed for multiple more years, he could be a fit for a Blackhawks team looking to get better.
