NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Blackhawks' Connor Murphy

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy was discussed often in the rumor mill leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline, but a deal did not come to fruition. However, with the Blackhawks rebuilding, the veteran blueliner is expected to generate interest yet again this summer.

Due to this, let's discuss three teams who could look to acquire Murphy this offseason now.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets could be a team to watch when it comes to Murphy. Every contender needs a steady shutdown defenseman, and Murphy would provide them with just that. He would also be a clear fit on their penalty kill, so they could make sense as a prime suitor for Murphy.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers could be a team to keep an eye on when it comes to Murphy as well. When looking at their roster, it is fair to say that they would benefit by bringing in another right-shot defenseman who can play top-four minutes. Murphy would provide them with just that if acquired.

Dallas Stars

The Stars could use a boost on the right side of their defense, so they could also be a team that makes a push for Murphy this offseason. He could be a fit on their either their second or third pairing if acquired. In addition, he would be an obvious choice for their penalty kill, given his defense-first style of play.
