NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Utah Hockey Club Offseason Trade Candidates

It has been an up-and-down season for the Utah Hockey Club in 2024-25. Due to this, there is an expectation that they could look to shake up their group a bit during this upcoming offseason.

Because of this, let's take a look at three players from Utah HC who could be on the move this summer now.

Lawson Crouse

It has been a tough season for Crouse, as he has just 11 goals and 17 points in 75 games. Before this, the 6-foot-4 winger scored at least 20 goals in each of his previous three seasons and hit the 40-point marks in back-to-back years with the Arizona Coyotes. The change to Utah has been tough on the 2015 first-round pick, so it would not be too surprising if Utah listened to offers on him this summer.

Matias Maccelli

Maccelli is another Utah HC player to keep an eye on this summer. The 24-year-old winger has struggled this season, posting just eight goals and 10 assists in 55 games. With this, he has been the subject of several healthy scratches this campaign. The young forward could use a change of scenery, and there would be interest in him if he is made available. Just last season, he had 17 goals and 57 points.

Nick Schmaltz

Schmaltz is entering the final season of his contract in 2025-26, so he could be another Utah forward to watch. He has been the subject of trade rumors in the past, and he could be a solid addition for a team looking to boost their top six. In 76 games this season, he has 17 goals, 58 points, and a minus-12 rating.
