NHL Trade Rumors: Top 3 Teams Eyeing Brock Boeser in Free Agency

The Vancouver Canucks’ offseason moves are generating plenty of speculation, with Brock Boeser’s name at the center of trade rumors.

As talk swirls about Quinn Hughes potentially reuniting with his brothers in New Jersey, attention has turned to whether Boeser will re-sign with Vancouver or test free agency.

Will Boeser Depart in Free Agency?

Canucks insider Patrick Johnston reports that the 28-year-old winger is poised to become a free agent on July 1. While Vancouver hasn’t ruled out re-signing him, Boeser is expected to gauge his market value.

The bigger question: Which teams could make a play for him? Here are the top 3 teams he is being linked to:

1. New York Rangers

The Rangers, fresh off a disappointing playoff miss, are rumored to be among the top suitors for Boeser.

In need of offensive firepower—especially on the wing—his scoring ability and power-play expertise would complement stars like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad. If GM Chris Drury wants to bolster his roster for a deep playoff run, Boeser could be an ideal addition.

2. Minnesota Wild

A return to his home state could be in the cards if the Wild pursue Boeser. With the cap penalties from the Zach Parise and Ryan Suter buyouts finally easing, GM Bill Guerin has room to make a big move.

The Burnsville native would bring both skill and hometown appeal, making this a potential win-win scenario.

3. Detroit Red Wings

After nine straight playoff absences, Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings are under pressure to take a step forward. Boeser could provide the scoring punch Detroit’s young core needs while serving as a veteran presence in the top six.

Boeser is projected to seek a long-term deal worth $8–9 million annually. With a competitive market expected, teams will need both cap space and a compelling pitch to secure the sharpshooting winger.
