New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin and Madison Square Garden Sports, the company that owns the team, paid financial settlements to a Rangers employee last year after she alleged that Panarin sexually assaulted her, according to an NHL source who reviewed the settlements and three others briefed about them.
The woman has since left the team's employ, under terms that included "non-disclosure and no admission of wrongdoing" clauses.
According to the story, the alleged assault occurred in December 2023 during a Rangers road trip, when Panarin is said to have lured the woman to his hotel room and pinned her down to the bed, before she pushed him off and fled the room.
The NHL and the Rangers have not released any information about whether Panarin was subject to any discipline.
This news emerges just one day after Panarin was named the Rangers' MVP for the 2024-25 season, and... the winner of the media's 'Good Guy Award.'
Along with Team MVP, Artemi Panarin is also named Good Guy by #NYR media.

Panarin could’ve won this award every single season he’s been in New York, in my opinion, but you can only win it once and he stepped up this season.
No one is easier to talk to than No. 10.
