Senators Brady Tkachuk Sidelined With New Injury, Crookshank Recalled
Senators’ captain Brady Tkachuk will miss tonight’s game against the Sabres with an upper-body injury.
Head coach Travis Green told TSN’s Claire Hanna that Tkachuk sustained the injury after being hit away from the play by Penguins defenseman Ryan Graves late in the second period of Sunday’s game. Though he returned to finish the contest, logging 15:41 in ice time, his status is now in question.

Tkachuk has been managing a lingering lower-body issue since the 4 Nations Face-Off, which had already raised concerns about his availability. While he’s averaged over 18 minutes per game this season, he’s reached that mark only once in his last 11 appearances.
The injury break might offer Tkachuk a chance to reset. Though he has 8 goals and 11 points in 15 games since returning from the 4 Nations break, he’s been held without a point in his last three outings.
His overall production (55 points in 71 games) marks his lowest points-per-game rate since the shortened 2021 season.
Despite a career-average 9.7% shooting percentage, he remains a high-volume shooter, leading the team with 500 shot attempts—96 more than Thomas Chabot in second place.
Crookshank recalled
The Senators have recalled winger Angus Crookshank from AHL Belleville under emergency conditions to take Tkachuk’s spot in the lineup.
The 25-year-old winger will make his second NHL appearance of the season and first since February 26. After being scratched against Pittsburgh and briefly reassigned to Belleville, he’s back with the big club.
In 14 career NHL games, all with Ottawa, he has 3 points (2G, 1A). At the AHL level this season, he leads Belleville with 22 goals and 40 points in 60 games.
