Vegas Golden Knights Sign 2024 First-Round Pick To Entry-Level Deal

The Vegas Golden Knights have made a notable move, as they have signed forward prospect Trevor Connelly to a three-year entry-level contract. According to PuckPedia, Connelly's new deal with the Golden Knights won't begin until next season.

Connelly, 19, was selected by the Golden Knights with the 19th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft by the Golden Knights. Before getting drafted, the 6-foot forward posted 31 goals, 47 assists, 78 points, and 88 penalty minutes in 52 games with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL during the 2023-24 season. This was after he had 24 goals and 47 points in 57 games with the Storm during the previous season.

Connelly moved up to the NCAA level this season and played with Providence College. In 23 games this season with the school, he posted four goals, nine assists, and 13 points. Now, after signing this entry-level contract, he is moving on to the professional level.

Connelly is viewed as having plenty of potential and should be a key part of the Golden Knights' future once he makes the jump to the NHL level. However, with Connelly's new contract starting next season, he will not be able to join the Golden Knights as they prepare for the postseason this campaign.
