Washington Capitals Playing Mind Games In Net Ahead Of Game 4

Logan Thompson, Washington Capitals goalie
The goalie situation in the Washington/Montreal series got interesting in Game 3 as both Logan Thompson and Sam Montembeault left the game. Thompson's injury looked worse and he was originally expected to be out for Game 4 with Charlie Lindgren starting, but he was seen in the starter's net for the Washington Capitals at the morning skate.

Some believe that it is gamesmanship from the Capitals as the team hasn't revealed who will be the starter for the fourth game on Sunday.

On the other end of the ice, the starter remains unclear for the Montreal Canadiens as Cayden Primeau was recalled, but Montembeault wasn't ruled out of the game either. If Montembeault can't go, Jakob Dobes is expected to start with Primeau backing up.

It would put a nice twist on the series to have both backups go at it already, but everyone wants the best each team can offer. It is a closer series than many imagined it would be with most of the Canadiens getting their first sniff at playoffs, but Montreal has held their own and made it a series.

We should see closer to game time who is starting for both teams, but with the scrums and antics that have gone on in the series already, this isn't out of left field.
